Ceiba Public Schools is a nonprofit charter management organization committed to closing the college-readiness gap for historically underserved students. Our first school, Ceiba College Prep, will enter its seventh year of operation in 2014-15, serving over 500 scholars in grades 6-12. Located in the city of Watsonville, in southern Santa Cruz County, Ceiba has an Academic Performance Index (API) of 845, a 97% parent satisfaction rate, and is rated #1 of the 100 most demographically similar schools in California.
Our program is based on explicit and ambitious expectations for student achievement, a small school feel offering personalized attention, an extended school day and year, a challenging academic course load including both art and physical education, and a positive, structured school environment. We also offer extensive after school activities and high levels of academic support in order to achieve exceptional results and prepare students, and their families, for college completion.
To join Ceiba is to join a strategic-thinking, performance-driven group of educators and leaders who are passionate about education and devoted to ensuring that every student acquires the academic skills and cultural acumen necessary to succeed in college and in life.
