About Us

The Watershed Project's mission is to educate and inspire communities to protect their local watersheds. We aim to serve all the watersheds that feed into the San Francisco Bay, the 2nd largest estuary in the United States. The Bay is ringed by low mountains and as a result, collects the water of many creek watersheds. We show people how they are an integral part of a watershed, and how their behavior within that envelope, from mountaintop to marsh, affects and can improve the health of local water, soil, air, wildlife, and even themselves. We help them realize, that they are part of a living community - the interdependent web of living organisms that inhabit the watershed, and depend on it for its clean soil, air, and water. In these communities, we help establish a healthy human-earth relationship.
