The Maryland Technology Assistance Program (MD TAP), a division of the Maryland Department of Disabilities, helps Marylanders with disabilities get the technology they need to live, work and learn more independently. “Assistive technology” (AT) has revolutionized life for many people with disabilities, enabling them to get jobs, start businesses, succeed in school, live in their own homes, travel and participate in their communities. AT includes wheelchairs, vans with wheelchair lifts, home modifications, adapted computers, hearing and vision aids, communication devices, daily living aids and many other products. MD TAP’s programs make AT more available, affordable and usable for Marylanders with disabilities.
