The Indochinese American Council has been working for over thirty years to impact the lives of multiracial, low income, and at risk Indochinese-Americans and other minorities.
To empower disadvantaged, multiracial, minority Americans as well as newly-arrived refugees and immigrants from all parts of the world to achieve social, economic, and educational advancement and mobility. IAC promotes racial harmony and cultural understanding among members of different ethnic groups.
The Indochinese American Council empowers English language learners to develop skills to further their education, employment and participation in society. In 1987, through funding by The School District of Philadelphia, the IAC began its long-running service programs for students with limited English proficiency.
We provide dynamic childhood education services in afterschool and summer programs with a curriculum based in English language learning, academic support, literacy instruction, project-based learning, physical activity, and exposure to arts and culture.
Our adult education classes include GED preparation, ESL instruction at a variety of levels, computer literacy courses and citizen information sessions.
The IAC maintains itself as a resource for the community and we are proud to call the North Philadelphia neighborhood, Logan, our home-base. Our work continues with residents, businesses and community organizations in an effort to better the lives of students and families in our community.
