About us

The Systems Improvement at District Hospitals and Regional Training of Emergency Care (sidHARTe) program is built on the belief that access to emergency care should be universally available and accessible to all. Through our partnerships with local institutions, our mission is to generate tools and implement best practices to improve care for critically ill patients in the rural hospital setting. We support educational and health systems processes at the district and regional level which lead to reductions in morbidity and mortality for the undifferentiated acutely ill patient.

sidHARTe is part of the Program on Forced Migration and Health in the Department of Population and Family Health at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
