AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School provides an engaging and rigorous preschool for the most underserved three- and four-year-olds to close the achievement gap before children enter kindergarten. Our mission is to provide young children with the social, emotional and cognitive foundations that will enable them to succeed in school. We exclusively focus on three- and four-year-olds, supporting their specific development needs with an experience created just for them.
AppleTree is an intentionally structured full-day public charter preschool with seven campuses in Washington, DC. The School uses purposeful learning through play and guided instruction to create a safe, structured preschool experience for very young children. We work with AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation to produce and use award-winning curriculum, professional development, and school support systems.
AppleTree employs effective, highly qualified, professionally prepared teachers who are supported in achieving a high standard of excellence. AppleTree provides continuous professional development as a core part of the School's efforts to effectively educate children. Schoolwide operations systems and staff specialists maximize teachers' abilities to focus on instruction and work with instructional leaders.
