HCC is a 41 year old community-based not-for-profit organization that preserves and promotes safe, decent and affordable housing in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of NYC. We provide a range of services aimed at stabilizing our community, including: legal representation; tenant and community organizing; installation of energy efficient systems through our Weatherization Program; and technical training classes. Our goals are to preserve affordable housing for lower income residents, prevent the demolition of sound, low & middle income housing, preserve the diversity, vitality and character of the community, prevent harassment, illegal eviction and displacement of low and middle income tenants and to educate and organize the community about neighborhood issues. Although our primary focus is housing, HCC also offers advocacy and legal services in the areas of consumer debt, public benefits, immigration, domestic violence, community economic development, and trusts & estates.
