Intercultural Dimensions, Inc.-Crossing Cultures Senegal- is a non-profit educational organization (501(C)(3)) that since 1994 provides programs of cross-cultural awareness through travel, community service, cultural exchange, workshops, and seminars to Americans and people of other countries. Its Crossing Cultures program to Senegal, West Africa is an educational 17 day travel program that takes place each summer and in January. A volunteer work and field study component is included with an option to extend one's stay. The program is custom-tailored to individual interests Participants visit different parts of the country and community projects, stay with Senegalese families or in guest houses, use public transportation, and experience village life. The travel group is no more than 6 people.

    I just wanted to say a big thank you to you. The program you created was truely the perfect way to step into Senegal for the first time. I feel so lucky to have been able to stand on your shoulders and connect with the breadth of NGOs and contacts we did. Thank you for an incredibly influential experience.

    Erin's experience, led by you and John, was a most positive one. I believe that first exposure to Senegal really was a catalyst for pursuing her college major, Peace Corps Uganda and future career.
