Who We Are…
The Central Jersey Family Health Consortium, Inc. (CJFHC) is part of a regionalized maternal and child health system originally organized through funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 1988. Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, the Consortium includes membership by perinatal and pediatric providers, hospitals, community-based agencies, consumers and consumer advocates.
What We Do…
The Consortium is responsible for ensuring the provision of maternal and child health services throughout the Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Somerset Counties. These services are delivered in a coordinated, cooperative and prevention-oriented manner, which is accessible to those in need of care.
CJFHC develops a three year Regional Perinatal and Pediatric Plan based on a comprehensive needs assessment. This Plan describes how prenatal, intrapartum, newborn and infant follow-up services and pediatric services are delivered in the maternal and child health service region, as well as strategies for improving services.
Part of the plan is a region-wide system of quality assurance that includes quality improvement and regular collection and analysis of data designed to identify the nature and severity of health service problems. CJFHC recommends, implements and monitors corrective action based on the data collected through the Consortium's quality improvement (CQI) program, a multi-disciplinary committee that includes representation from member hospitals and the community.
