Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the lives, bodies, and spirits of children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapies, and to be an inspiration and educational resource to the therapeutic riding profession both regionally and nationally. Founded in 1976 as an all-volunteer program, we are now one of the country's top five therapeutic riding centers and the largest center in the Pacific Northwest. We remain one of only four Premier Accredited Centers in the state and the only center with both year-round Hippotherapy and Adaptive Riding. Situated on a 17-acre state-of-the-art equestrian facility, we serve more than 300 children and adults with disabilities from the greater Seattle area annually, averaging 230 riders and patients weekly. Our therapies develop the capabilities of each rider as well as provide a sense of accomplishment. Our stakeholders describe what happens at Little Bit as magic with a healthy dose of joy and a rich opportunity for community.
