Community Food Advocates ("CFA") is an organization focused on fighting poverty and hunger in New York. Our mission is grounded in the belief that access to healthy and nutritious food is a basic human right, and that government has a fundamental responsibility to establish policies and programs that promote greater access to food for communities living in poverty.
As advocates working to ensure that government fulfills its obligation, we are currently focused on strengthening and improving the following government food programs: New York City's School breakfast and lunch programs in public schools; the Summer Food Service Program; and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
