ConservEN (Conserve Natural India) is a North Indian non-governmental program, part of the NGO EduCare India. We are a multi-national group of interns, fellows and staff working together with local communities (Gaddi, Punjabi, Migrant Workers, and Rajasthani) towards the never-ending goal of sustainable development and natural resource conservation. Our current projects reside near Dharamshala, in the state of Himachal Pradesh, and near Hariana, in the state of Punjab. Within these areas, our offices are located in the towns or villages of: Naddi and Maiti (HP), and Janauri and Dholbaha (Punjab). By the month of March, 2013, we hope to expand to the state of Rajasthan, with an office in the town of Bikaner.
Our main foci for projects fall under the paradigm of Sustainable Development. Specifically, the program is focusing on:
Using applied research, ConservEN involves and engages with the community in looking for suitable and sustainable solutions to local environmental challenges in all activities undertaken.
