Conserve Natural India is an Indian NGO affiliate with EduCARE India. The NGO engages rural young people and women and interns, fellows and volunteer-staff from around the world. The interns work together with local communities towards the never-ending goal of sustainable development and natural resource conservation. Our current projects are in few villages each of the state of J&K / Leh-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan. New projects have been planned for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Diu and Goa.
Our main focus for projects fall under the paradigm of Sustainable Development. Specifically, the program is focusing on:
organic farming and kitchen herbal and vegetable gardens,
safe waste management practices and improved work conditions for migrant trash pickers,
cultural and rural tourism,
reforestation and bamboo plantations, and
commercial and artistic recycling of plastic/metal/wooden trash and construction waste and the development of bio-friendly household products for distribution and sale for the benefit of community development.
Using applied research, ConservEN involves and engages with the community in looking for suitable and sustainable solutions to local environmental challenges in all activities undertaken.
