Description

The Chicago Interfaith Committee on Worker Issues (CICWI) was formed in 1991 to educate and actively involve the Chicago metropolitan religious community to support issues and campaigns that improve wages, benefits, and working conditions for low-wage workers. CICWI:
1) actively involves the religious community in supporting the working poor in efforts to improve wages, benefits, and working conditions;
2) advocates for stronger public policies related to wages and benefits and stronger enforcement of labor laws;
3) rebuilds alliances between the labor and religious communities to work together for the mutually shared values of dignity and respect for working people, and the right to a just wage.
