Volunteer Chore Services is committed to helping low-income elders and adults with disabilities remain independent in their own homes through a network of caring community members. Volunteers assist with chores, such as housework, laundry, shopping, transportation and yardwork. Volunteers usually help a couple of hours weekly or monthly in their neighborhood. The hours are flexible. Training, insurance, and mileage reimbursement are provided. We also work with groups of 3 to 250 who help with yardwork, painting, ramp building or minor home repair.
What if you couldn't carry your own groceries? Wash your own dishes? Thousands of low-income elders and disabled people cannot do these things. And because they don't qualify for state aid and cannot afford to hire someone to assist them, they need the help of caring volunteers. Be their safety net.
