Village Empowerment Academy is an English & I.T. Training Institute.The adventure of this special place was started in Valaichchenai in October 2009.
Today, we are happy to offer access to English and I.T. courses in two centres situated in Batticaloa and Murakkoddanchenai, on the Eastern coast of Sri Lanka, for the benefit of school students.
Since our motto is "Education for All !!!", we are looking for possibilities of opening more centres to offer access to English and I.T. courses especially for children and youth living outside of town.
We also hope to provide services in other parts of Sri Lanka and organize exchange programs between the students of our different centres, as a humble contribution to the reconciliation process we hope to see in Sri Lanka after decades of war.
In our institute, we expect a full participation from our students. We want them to follow the classes actively led by teachers, to become fully involved in the proposed activities, and to gradually take initiatives and responsibilities regarding the life of the centres…
Students have to contribute to attend the courses. It is one of the conditions to allow us to stand on our feet and provide a quality service to all now and in the future. Nevertheless, we also welcome students whose families are in financial difficulties. Search for sponsorships can be facilitated for such students.
Since we believe in the positive impact of discovering and understanding other cultures, our institute intends to be a multicultural centre, where guests and friends from different parts of Sri Lanka and abroad are welcome to discuss and exchange with our students.
