The Achievable Foundation was founded in 1996 as a nonprofit organization serving low-income individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. People with developmental disabilities are a vulnerable population that is underserved in terms of health care, wellness needs, resources and other desperately needed services. Since its inception, the Achievable Foundation has worked to bridge the gap in services for people with developmental disabilities, and has helped many families overcome the financial challenges of obtaining services.
The mission of the Achievable Foundation is to significantly improve the quality of life of low-income children and adults living in the Los Angeles area who have a developmental disability such as autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or other developmental disability. Our Foundation strives to make a profound difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities by focusing on health and wellness, independence, community access, emergency supports and inclusion. We seek innovative, long-term, and cost-effective solutions to problems, with particular focus on needs that are urgent.
