About us

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA, has a long history of commitment to the environment, global understanding, and women's leadership. Chatham is the alma mater of environmental icon Rachel Carson, and is recognized as a leader in the field of sustainability, having been named to The Princeton Review's Green College Honor Roll, named to Sierra Magazine's list of top 25 "Cool Schools" and mentioned in a 2012 Forbes article as one of the places "contributing to Pittsburgh's transformation into a destination for green living."  Chatham's Falk School of Sustainability works to prepare its graduate students in fields helping to drive tomorrow's economy, offering graduate degrees in sustainability, food studies, and business.

The Falk School is based at Chatham's Eden Hall campus - a 388-acre farm and academic community built from the ground up for sustainable development, living, and learning. Designed to ultimately serve more than 1,500 students while producing zero carbon emissions and more energy than it consumes, Eden Hall features high performance green buildings and the latest in sustainable land, energy, and water management techniques.
