Twelve Gates Arts (which refers to the fortified gates that walled many ancient cities such as Delhi, Lahore, Jerusalem, and Rhodes - inside which lay the heart of each city's art and culture, and today they offer perspectives on history and possibilities) is a non-profit organization, with a mission to strengthen US-South Asia exchanges and cooperation in the field of arts within the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area and beyond. Through a unique and thought-provoking atmosphere our mission is to educate the community on contemporary arts of both American and international artists related to South Asia and surrounding regions. Twelve Gates Arts (12 G) was established in 2011 in Philadelphia. 12G holds monthly exhibitions of contemporary and modern art by Diaspora artists and international artists from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey and other countries of the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and Asia. The list of artists represented forms an impressive spectrum of established masters as well as cutting edge and outstanding newcomers.
