The Rajkumari Cultural Center is a community-based, multi-arts organization that works to rejuvenate Indo-Caribbean cultural and artistic life and to restore and self-esteem to this new American community. Cultural artistic skills and craftsmanship and emerge in year-round interaction in classes and workshops with elder custodians, master-artists, scholars and young tradition-bearers with community youth and families.
RCC preserves, teaches and presents the arts and culture of Indo- Caribbean communities from Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica and Suriname living in the New York metropolitan and Tri- state area. The Center works to overcome isolation of the Indo-Caribbean by creating bridges of understanding and appreciation to the wider multi-ethnic and cultural society.

RCC is dedicated to revitalizing and nurturing the arts and culture of Indo-Caribbean immigrants and community youth in New York, and to build a bridge for an isolated ethnic minority of New Americans to participate in the cultural life of City, State, and Nation.
The RCC stimulates original and artistic creativity, especially among the younger generation of Indo-Caribbeans born in the U.S. The Center's work revolves around cultural initiatives that organize and mentor community members to produce sustainable arts programs in the underserved neighborhoods of color. These neighborhood outreach projects support traditional and contemporary art forms of people of South Asian ancestry* from the Caribbean and South America.
