Founded in 1999, Cool Culture is a citywide nonprofit that helps underserved families to seize the limitless learning opportunities in New York City's arts and cultural institutions with fun, free, and enriching experiences for young children and their parents. Our collaborative model brings together community stakeholders to support economically challenged children and families.
Cool Culture serves 50,000 low-income families every year that might otherwise be left out of the enriching learning experiences that children need to thrive.
With 90 of the city's diverse arts and cultural institutions as partners, Cool Culture is building a cultural pipeline to the audiences of the future, while providing families with free unlimited admission to world renowned resources.
Cool Culture works with educators in over 400 public schools, Head Start centers, and other preschool providers in their community, enrolling families and promoting family cultural visits.
Last year alone, more than 185,000 Cool Culture parents and children walked through the doors of our partner cultural institutions.
