St. Francis House of Olympia, WA

Our supportive housing provides safe and affordable housing for more than 600 elderly and disabled adults at 10 locations in Washington State. Our “Houses,” as we call them, offer rent assistance through government subsidies from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Each beautifully maintained House offers independent living in an apartment setting. In addition, residents enjoy services coordination and a sense of community. The professional and caring staff at our Houses works to make sure the independent, health and dignity of each resident is preserved and celebrated.

Providence St. Francis House is a high-quality, supportive housing program founded by the Sisters of Providence and owned and managed by Providence Health and Services. Designed and built especially for low-income, aging seniors, the building features 59 private apartments with all the comforts of home. Each apartment includes full kitchen amenities, a private bathroom with tub or walk-in shower, built-in storage and an open floor plan. Shared laundry facilities and welcoming community spaces are available to all residents.

Nestled among the trees adjacent to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, all of the apartments feature views of the park-like grounds, surrounding woods, and the community’s large and productive raised garden beds. Metro bus service is available at the front entry, providing easy access to doctor’s offices, banks, grocery stores and other local amenities.

Providence places a high value in supporting individual residents and creating a vibrant community by providing a shared computer lab with internet access, gathering spaces for resident groups, and a wide variety of scheduled activities including educational and recreational programming. A Service Coordinator can help residents identify and access local resources and services and can advocate for residents who need assistance.
