About Us

I play the Native American Flute. What stated as my playing at Interfaith Spiritual and Earthday events, grow in my founding The Spritiheart Flute and Drum Circle of the Shenandoah Valley, which grow into my volunteering monthly at The Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center using the flute and drum circle model along with many years of my non-traditional educational training. I learned about the term "Teaching Artist" and formed a trio called Three Guys With Notes, because I needed to perform and produce a CD as evidence of the term "Teaching Artists" being appropriate. Out trio now performs as well as my continuing to do outreach. We are very much a world music group in that we are composed of Native American Flute, acoustic upright bass, and world percussion. I have some beautiful letters of recommendation and letteres of requests for service that will be posted on our web site very soon.Key members of my trio (there are actually 5) are teachers and experienced music facilitators in their own right. We have come together becasue I have a dream to do somethimg much more. I want to take the model that I have developed statewide. To that end I have joined with the Staunton Creative Coummunity Foundation, a incorporated 501- C3 in a joint project of work. And that is what I am calling the Three Guys With Notes Outreach Program.I am currently scheduled to teach seven multi- session experiencials in the Staunton Virginia Parks and Rec fall/winter schedule. I am working with The Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center to build a program to work with people dealing with autism. I am also working with The Genesis School which is the recepient of the challenging students from 4 school district in my area. I am also working with the local Senior Center to develop a program for them.I am also a founder of Your Most Excellent Fluting Adventure, a long weekend of small group experientials on a 180 acre ranch that we are able to have to oursleves. For all these projects, we need a volunteer(s) to help obtain funding through donations and grants it. Our "Social MIssion" is to use the musicial gifts we have to help those in need. We have come together because each of us has been doing what we can with not enough equipement, and time (because of funds). We know that we can benefit any of the populations I have mention above, and we have proved it.
