Westmoreland UCC Congregational Church is a medium sized church on the DC/Bethesda border with a vibrant music and community outreach program and many members involved in its volunteer activities. The congregation is an active member of several denominational and interfaith associations and supports many social service programs in DC and Montgomery County. For example, the Church supports a Volunteer Corps, usually 5 young people who come to DC/Bethesda to work in any of several social service agencies while living in communal housing provided by Westmoreland. The church has members of all ages and is attracting younger families with children. As a Congregational church, Westmoreland is nondoctrinal. Church staff include a senior minister, associate minister for parish life, director of music, acting director of Christian education, church administrator, and church membership/outreach coordinator.
