Opportunity Fund advances the economic well being of working people by helping them earn, save, and invest in their future. Our comprehensive approach incorporates financial literacy, microfinance, and lending to build new community spaces. By investing in those who don't have ready access to financial resources, we strive to break the cycle of poverty for good.
Opportunity Fund (formerly known as Lenders for Community Development) is a not-for-profit financial institution with a staff of 40 people, an annual operating budget of $7 million and offices in San Jose and San Francisco. Our award winning programs have directed more than $200 million into low-income communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and have helped thousands of clients improve their lives.
