Nonprofit (Fairfield): Thinking Beyond Borders

Thinking Beyond Borders is an innovative and visionary organization to help youth become the proactive agents of change that our global community needs. Thinking Beyond Borders has been offering educational programs to Gap Year students (high school graduates deferring their freshman year of college) since September 2008. This unique and powerful organization leads students through an eight-month program including service learning projects in various developing countries, home-stays in each of those countries, a broad but rigorous curriculum, and opportunities to translate their learning into action that supports communities abroad and at home. These experiences will prepare students to begin their college careers with direction, purpose, and a broad understanding of our world and its challenges.
