The Global Lives Project is an international collaboration of filmmakers, designers, architects, activists and institutions from around the globe working to build a video library of human life experience. We envision a world where all human lives have equal value and people across the world see and treat one another as though they were neighbors.
We conduct 24-hour long video recordings of the daily life of individuals in around the world as well as life-story interviews, and then we show these videos online and in immersive video installations. We have already done ten shoots with individuals who roughly represent the diversity of the human population, including Malawi, Indonesia, Brazil, Japan, China, India, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon and the US.
We show our work online, at mulit-screen video installations and at screenings around the world, including United Nations University in Tokyo, the Arts House in Singapore, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, a favela in São Paulo, and high schools in China and Japan.
