About Us

Diasporic Genius is a multi-level, multi-faceted vision and program which seeks to use widespread creative expression as the lever to uncork social, economic, and civic innovation and development. Diasporic Genius is a three-part vision and program for the enrichment and development of every strata of our civic society, incorporating three interrelated spheres of action: a professional arts company producing unique, multidisciplinary shows; a robust system of mentorship and education focused on new creative forms and “civic inter-weaving”; and the co-creation of a new series of highly integrated urban “hubs”, the 21st Century Village Squares. DG seeks to use widespread creative expression as the lever to uncork social, economic, and civic innovation and development.

We are offering volunteers the opportunity to participate in a new project, which is quickly gathering allies throughout Toronto's Arts and Culture sectors. Our early allies include the Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office, The City Institute, Matt Galloway, Garvia Bailey, Margie Zeidler, Mary Rowe, Jeff Melanson, Atom Egoyan, Ana Serrano, Andrew Soren, Weyni Mengesha, Mark Kingwell, Albert Schultz, Mervon Mehta, Noah Richler, Tim Jones, Ralph Benmergui, Naki Osutei, Hannah Evans and many more.
