About Us

Created in 2008 by founder Shanda Hughes, MY G.I.R.L.S. is a non-profit organization mentoring Girls In Real Life Situations toward successful outcomes.

By incorporating the three E's: enlighten, encourage and empower, MY G.I.R.L.S. strives to positively transform lives, by equipping young women to soar despite difficult situations they may be facing.

Through mentorship and participation in community service activities MY G.I.R.L.S. mentees gain the insight and tools necessary to embrace their own uniqueness and emerge triumphant.
