Description

KickStart is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to create new livelihoods and kick-start sustainable economic growth in developing countries. Founded in Kenya in 1991, KickStart designs and promotes simple inexpensive technologies that are bought by poor local entrepreneurs, and are used to establish highly profitable new small-scale businesses. KickStart has created over 35,000 new businesses in East Africa. Presently, over 800 new businesses are started every month using KickStart technologies.

KickStart is creating a middle class from the bottom up and over 50% of the new businesses are run by women. KickStart enables the poor to climb out of poverty forever.
