Has invested more than $1.6 million since 1995, in organizations that provide housing and health care, counseling and education, and job and life-skills training to women and girls in diverse communities across the state.

Created a Women's Policy Institute in 1998 to train grass-roots women leaders in the art of advocacy and help bring positive social change and improve the overall health and well-being of women and their families.

Investing in policy initiatives: Transforming women's lives through investing in economic security and social justice initiatives
• Advocating for economic security and social justice:Raising awareness of the inequity of economic status of women and girls and advocating for change in the policies and systems that shape women's opportunities in New Jersey, including healthcare, wage equity, jobs and financial literacy.
• Building WFNJ as a sustainable community resource:Establish WFNJ as a long term resource for the community. Promoting philanthropic activism and developing financial sustainability by increasing the size of our endowment and cultivating annual support from a robust and diverse donor base.

Is moving a social-change agenda forward by building upon strategies that:• Cultivate and leverage partnerships among grass-roots, political and private-sector organizations in order to impact the broader social, policy and institutional landscape.
The primary goal of the Women's Policy Institute is to increase the number of women leaders who are actively involved in shaping public policy. The Institute provides intensive training in New Jersey's public policy process and on topics that are integral to the process such as conducting research, developing effective messages, mobilizing constituents and understanding the budget process.
