About Us

Global Action on Aging (GAA), a non-profit organization with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, was founded in 1994.

GAA addresses the social and economic dimensions of global population aging. Via its website and newsletter, it reports on older persons' needs and potential and brings together activists of all generations to advocate by, with and for older persons.

GAA uses a human rights framework to advocate at the United Nations and in other international forums to improve the lives of older persons.

GAA believes that adopting a UN Convention to protect the rights of older persons will improve the lives of older persons by guaranteeing them equal access to political, economic, health care and cultural rights.

To learn more about GAA, visit our website www.globalaging.org. Look for our internship and volunteer opportunities at http://www.globalaging.org/interns/internships.htm and feel free to join our newsletter.
