Kupu is a 501(c)(3) organization that is primarily responsible for The Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps (HYCC). HYCC provides a variety of environmentally-based, outdoor service-learning, and job-training programs. The HYCC programs receive primary funding from the Department of Land and Natural Resources and also receive funding from Kamehameha Schools, AmeriCorps, and the Department of Health. Through its four programs, the HYCC places young adults into conservation internships in order to educate them and provides opportunities for environmental service, in order to assist the environment and the community around them.
