Access Aid International

Access Aid International (AAI) (formerly Australian Aid International) is an international non-profit, non-government organisation committed to mitigating the double burden of poverty and poor access to quality health care in regions where health systems have either collapsed or are in crisis through the provision of emergency medical care, general and public health services and capacity building. AAI regards health as a fundamental human right and its goal is for this right to be realised in some of the most remotest and dangerous regions in the world.

AAI was established by a core of like-minded individuals with varied backgrounds and skills who have dedicated themselves to the principals of equality, justice, freedom, and the alleviation of suffering. It is a humanitarian, non-sectarian organisation that provides assistance regardless of race, religion, political affiliation or location.

AAI's founders are by nature adventurous people, who have undertaken many arduous and often dangerous activities around the world in the pursuit of the humanitarian imperative. AAI brings their professional capacities, personal attributes, and unique qualities and also those of its volunteers together to achieve outstanding results. These unique qualities include self-reliance, teamwork, esprit de corps, flexibility and adaptability, tolerance for ambiguity, determination and the willingness to inspire these attributes in others.

AAI focuses on the underserved and vulnerable populations that may not otherwise enjoy assistance from governments or other international organisations. It promotes partnerships with local communities, capacity building of existing infrastructures, and the provision of other humanitarian aid initiatives that focus on the causes of the problem to ensure that it achieves sustainable solutions.
