The Massachusetts Migrant Education Program is an EDCO operated, state administered federally funded program that serves children of migratory agricultural workers and fishers. EDCO staff members visit local farms and processing plants to identify and recruit eligible migratory children. Advocacy and outreach, interpreting, ESL (English as a Second Language), family literacy, parent empowerment workshops and preschool services are provided. A six-week summer program for children pre-school through 12th grade provides extended academic learning in language arts and math, health screenings and nutritional meals in locations throughout the state.
