Nonprofit (Tacoma): Washington Nonprofits

Washington Nonprofits is the new state association for nonprofits.

The mission of Washington Nonprofits is to build a strong collaborative nonprofit sector serving Washington communities. We do this through advocacy, education, capacity building, and networking.

Vision: Washington nonprofits are contribute to, and are recognized as, essential elements of healthy and thriving communities across the state.

As a result of the state association:

Nonprofits are better positioned to respond to external challenges and to capture new opportunities.
Nonprofits join together to assure that government's policy and resource decisions support nonprofit effectiveness in meeting community needs.
There is greater collaboration, sharing of information and resources, and a stronger sense of common cause between nonprofits.
Nonprofits have tools and information that allow them to be more effective.
The public and policy makers see nonprofit organizations as an equal partner with government and the business sector

WN is:

1) Gathering together nonprofit voices from across the state and speaking out about the strength and importance of the sector in our communities and state.

2) Mapping areas of greatest need and rallying the resources to tackle the challenges.

3) Tying together everyone who supports NPOs to coordinate, collaborate and accelerate growth and success in NPO's missions.
