Description

True Reflections and Freedom (TRaF) is an Afrikan Heritage Education organization in the Chicago metro area. The purpose of TRaF is to provide greater access to Afrikan heritage education to youth of Afrikan descent. Access to Afrikan heritage enables holistic and positive awareness of an international community identity and responsibility for youth of Afrikan descent.

True Reflections and Freedom has a Program consisting of two projects: (C)ultural-Access and (C)ultural Exchange.

C-Access is an introduction to Afrikan heritage education or Abibifology for youth aged 15-21. The duration of C-Access is 9-months with three cycles: Understanding Heritage, Universal Identity, and Specialization (prep for study aboard). This project will allow participants to build a portfolio to earb college credit. Upon completion of project, participants will receive a certificate, qualifying them to enroll into C-Exchange.

C-Exchange is a study aboard project. Participants will travel, live, and study in Afrika or the Diaspora. Entry into these countries require understanding of the official language and the usage of an indigenous dialect.

TRaF's mission is to progressively advance Afrikan centered consciousness by providing Afrikan heritage education that guides and engages youth in the Afrikan Diaspora.
