To build A Visual Framework to meet the Millennium Development Goals
The Institute for Conscious Global Change, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit NGO organization with Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Its primary activity is the Millennium Earth Project. The Institute's mission is to gather relevant data, in coordination with the OECD, UNESCO, the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDGs Indicators led by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat, and other data gathering bodies. Our aim is to design a virtual globe making more visible the needs of each country – the effect will be to highlight the problems of each country in one main center so the solutions can be quickly sought and served. In this way the Institute will present a: "Visual Solution to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)" showing how we can— fundamentally change the way humanity lives and creates its environment. Organization for Conscious Global Change is dedicated to the goal of eradicating physical, emotional, and mental poverty from our planet through educational and economic means. We believe that the world is one world and its sufferings are one, and the sins of humanity are also one. In truth humanity is one, created equal and have equal rights to the resources and opportunities which must be made available to everyone. To achieve this objective, the organization will co-ordinate and make more visible the needs of each country through the Virtual Global Earth Project. This design will be done in co-ordination with the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDG Indicators led by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat – the effect will be to highlight the problems of each country in one main centre so that the solutions can be quickly sought and served.
To achieve our mission we will:
Construct a virtual globe which will provide visual and written up-to-date information on each country Work in partnership with the United Nations, the Organization for Economic and Cultural Development (OECD), NGOs and local governments to make detail assessments of the financial, economic, technical and manpower resources required to achieve the desired objectives Assist in directing the resources to each country to resolve the needs Collaborate and coordinate with international organizations serving in each country to provide comprehensive and relevant information Consult with native officials to verify and make current the data gathered; where necessary, make corrections and, notify essential organizations active in these countries A virtual image of each country with accompanying detailed information will be available at the country's site on the Global Earth map to be constructed by the Institute of Conscious Global Change, Inc. Our first initiative will be to create virtual but tangible solutions to the issues facing three countries, each from the three regions (Asia, Africa and the Caribbean) in which the 49 Least Developed Countries (LDCs) exist. There are 14 countries in Asia; 34 in Africa and one in the Caribbean. The three countries selected for this first phase of our work are: Afghanistan in Asia; The Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, and Haiti in the Caribbean.
