About Us

The Partnership Fund for New York City is a social impact fund that is focused on: (i) Expanding opportunities for New York City residents by investing in projects that create jobs and support entrepreneurship in disadvantaged neighborhoods and (ii) Advancing technology in the public interest of New York City by identifying and supporting technology that addresses societal challenges, including resiliency across all five boroughs; financial and social mobility well-being and improved access to jobs and training for disadvantaged populations; health of small neighborhood businesses; and ensuring local government has access to the best digital tools as it delivers essential public-sector services.

The Partnership Fund makes direct investments in mission-aligned for-profit and not-for-profit entities. It also operates innovation labs with public-sector partners, including the Transit Tech Lab and the Environmental Tech Lab, as well as the FinTech Innovation Lab in partnership with Accenture.  The Partnership Fund was started in 1996 by Henry Kravis under the auspices of the Partnership for New York City, Inc. a nonprofit business organization whose members employ more than 1 million New Yorkers. Private-sector investors provided the funding to catalyze an evergreen fund that continually invests returns. The Fund has invested over $190 million since inception.
