The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is a highly respected and internationally recognized organization comprised of strong, international teams of professional and grassroots media activists, working together to build peace and democracy through free and fair media. IWPR exists as an international network for media development with nonprofit divisions in Europe, US and Africa. Our programs effectively combine skills training, reporting and capacity building for local journalists in countries in conflict, those in transition and those wehere the struggle for independent and free media remains elusive. Started in 1992 to provide balanced reporting from all sides of the violent conflicts in the Balkans, today IWPR operates in 22 locations around the world.
