Art in a Box is an international organization that
empowers members of disadvantaged or distressed
communities, fosters cultural exchange and promotes
mutual understanding across geographic, artistic and
cultural borders through art. We partner with
communities around the world that are facing crisis
situations due to war, public health emergencies,
natural disasters, or that are disadvantaged by
poverty and to assist in recovery and empowerment
through art and art education. We respect the depth
and diversity of people who are often viewed as
representatives of their circumstances rather than as
unique individuals.
Art in a Box promotes international understanding
through public art programs, distance learning and
electronic media. We believe that art enables people
from different backgrounds to build bridges of
friendship.
