About us

The Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST) is working to assist persons trafficked for the purpose of forced labor and slavery-like practices and to work toward ending all instances of such human rights violations.

Trafficking is the recruitment and/or the transportation of persons using violence or the threat of violence, deception or coercion, for the purpose of exploiting them economically or sexually for the profit or advantage of others. Every 10 minutes, another human being is trafficked to the United States for slavery-a total of 45-50,000 women and children each year according to the CIA. Trafficking is increasingly becoming a major activity of organized crime.
