Lawyers For Children, Inc.

Lawyers For Children is dedicated to representing children and young adults whose parents or guardians have placed them into foster care. In addition, we provide legal and social work services to young people who are the subject of abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights, adoption, guardianship, paternity, custody, and visitation proceedings. Our goal is to help engage young people in the planning that will ensure safety, permanency and a secure home for each young person we represent.

Every young person has both an attorney and a social worker to provide them with the highest quality legal and social work services. In addition to providing direct services, LFC advocates for the rights of youth in foster care on a system-wide basis via class action lawsuits, legislative education and advocacy, and collaborative work with the NYC Administration for Children's Services and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
