Sasha Bruce Youthwork provides comprehensive and coordinated services to at-risk, runaway, and homeless youth and their families in Washington, DC and the surrounding metropolitan area. Our services support youth in stabilizing and enhancing their lives, promote positive social relationships, teach life skills, and strengthen families. Our philosophy and approach is to identify and build on the strengths within the young person or family.
Our services include emergency shelter for children and youth; supervised, supportive apartment living and group homes for young people to transition to independence; home-based counseling for youth and their families; programs for youth involved in the juvenile justice system; a teen mothers residence; street outreach services to runaway and street youth; a family preservation program; housing and supportive services to families transitioning out of homelessness; assistance and life planning to families affected by HIV/AIDS; training in the building trades and toward a GED for youth who have dropped out of high school; and substance abuse and AIDS prevention services.
