About Us

Founded in 1996, FINANTA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community lender that provides access to capital and consultation services to entrepreneurs, first-time homebuyers, and consumers in the Philadelphia region. Our mission is to promote the growth and economic expansion of diverse communities through the infusion of capital and the provision of business and homeownership consultation services. We are a certified U.S. SBA Microloan Intermediary, U.S. Treasury Community Development Financial Institution, and Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Homeownership Lender.

Products for businesses include microloans of up to $50,000, small business loans up to $150,000, economic development loans over $150,000, and lines of credit up to $100,000. We also offer FINANTA mortgages (up to $160,000) and PHFA mortgages (up to $417,000) for first-time homebuyers. For those not yet ready to borrow, FINANTA offers “PRE” programs that pair credit-building microloans with customized one-on-one and group-based counseling. Since its founding in 1996, FINANTA has deployed over 900 loans totaling $41.6 million.
