The Development Gateway puts the Internet to work for developing countries. We provide practical Internet solutions for effective aid and e-government – increasing access to critical information, and building the capacity of local people to leverage their resources for positive change.Working with governments, international donors and private local and global organizations, we focus on areas where Internet processes can deliver high impact results, such as public procurement, aid fund management, aid coordination, and the rapid exchange of lessons and best practices. Together we identify demand – such as the need for a better process for developing countries and donors to coordinate aid information – and together we define and develop cost-effective solutions that can be easily replicated. The Development Gateway was initiated by the World Bank and became an independent foundation in 2001. Approximately 40 employees work with hundreds of partners around the world, including direct activities in 60 countries. We encourage you to visit the site to publish your work, access our extensive knowledge base, and share your experience with other members.
