About Us

Kampala Community International Preschool is the first progressive international, early child development center in Kampala, Uganda for children ages 18 months-5 years old. We emphasize the importance of learning through a play-based, child-centered curriculum. KCIP strives to develop active and creative minds in every individual child by providing an engaging and challenging learning environment at each stage of development. KCIP creates a safe and nurturing space where children can develop and improve their academic, social, emotional and physical skills. We strongly emphasize the importance of a multi-cultural education. KCIP helps children to develop cultural awareness and respect towards others.

Our program enables volunteers to have the opportunity to work alongside our highly-qualified teachers and learn how to engage with children in an international school setting, plan developmentally appropriate lessons and learn important skills for running a successful classroom.

Our program helps volunteers to engage in different activities such as teaching children different motor and kinesthetic skills. They will also be encouraged to participate in circle time planning, play games and practise rhymes with the children. Volunteers will be taught how to create useful resources for the classroom, as well as, provide childcare support.
