Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LeAp) is an educational service organization that is committed to permanently improving the quality of education in public schools. Since 1977, LeAp has encouraged high standards and expectations for all students (urban, minority, economically disadvantaged, bilingual, newly-arrived immigrant, gifted and talented, and learning disabled). LeAp bridges the gap between student potential and student performance using an arts-based format that wraps around the academic curriculum. Residencies are customized to meet specific classroom needs. LeAp trains educators to utilize new tools, incorporating innovative, hands-on approaches that enhance teaching skills. This approach enables the academic curriculum to "come alive." LeAp also conducts parenting workshops to help build parents' awareness of their children's educational needs.
