About Us

Venture Academy is a public charter school serving grades 6-9 based in Minneapolis with the mission of inspiring passionate, innovative entrepreneurial leaders who imagine opportunities, take initiative, and create solutions. Since opening in August 2013, Venture has primarily served economically disadvantaged children and English learners with a whole school learning model that uses personalized, blended digital learning designed to cultivate entrepreneurial leadership skills that students will use to change the world around them.

Time is a valuable resource, and we are grateful for the hundreds of hours our team of volunteers passionately dedicates to support the learning growth of our trailblazers. Volunteers give their time in many ways: tutoring and reading with students, assistant coaching, office/lunch room support, leading workshops and guest lectures, mentoring, translating parent communications… If you have a unique skill, we would love to have you on our team. We need volunteers who are punctual, professional, have basic computer skills and are available during school hours (8:40 am - 4:10 pm M-Th, 8:40 am - 1:45 pm Fridays). You need to be comfortable tutoring students in math or reading, and either have or want experience working with middle schoolers! Interested in getting involved? Contact Hannah Bech (hbech@ventureacademies.org) with your name, contact information, and availability. We can’t wait to hear from you!
