Global Citizen Journey

About Us

Global Citizen Journey joins listening ears, open hearts and ready hands across countries and continents. We envision an environment of deep, ongoing cross-cultural exchange that builds understanding, global connectedness and world peace.

Participants from the U.S. and the host country live and work together in the host village for 2.5 weeks, sharing their unique cultural gifts and completing a project of significance to the community.

Our first trip was in November, 2005, to Nigeria, where we built the first library in the "creeks" region of the Niger Delta. In October 2006 we went to Axim, Ghana to build an orphanage and community center, focusing on women's empowerment. In 2010 and 2011 we launched the Liberia Peacebuilder Initiative. We are currently planning a Journey to India for January, 2017.

Global Citizen Journey is a 501(c)(3) organization.
