ARISE High School

About Us

ABOUT ARISE ARISE High School, a relatively new Oakland charter school, is part of the Coalition of Essential Schools network. The school has recently joined a consortium of schools to receive the federal Teacher Incentive Fund, which is intended to improve student achievement by incentivizing the right things, providing good feedback to teachers and students, and building capacity within teachers. ARISE will serve 220 students next year in grades 9-12, with a focus on preparing students from low income families to be the first in their families to attend college. Our mission is to empower students with the skills and knowledge to pursue higher education and become leaders in the world. ARISE High School will also provide an environment for training educators to become leaders in secondary school reform.
